Sword Workshop Part 1 w/ Olivia

This 2 part workshop! Our goal is to focus on both technique and theatrical concepts that underlie a fluid and evocative approach to sword work. We will accent the shape and shift of the sword with each movement of the body so that each form flows seamlessly into the next. We will learn a series of sword holds, dance moves and combinations in a short choreography with special attention to sword placement, movement and transitions. The second workshop will be on August 15. These workshops are sequential and students must register for both parts of workshop. If attending both is not possible, students may schedule a private lesson with Olivia to catch up on missed information.

This workshop builds on skills and concepts developed in the July workshop. Prerequisite: attend Part 1 or schedule private lesson with Olivia to catch up on material.
